play as a tool for deepening the connection with the culture at workActivity option 1AI-generated anthem for SIC
Participants are tasked with defining the concept, mood, and style of a new SIC anthem. They will write the lyrics and then use AI tools to compose the song. The anthem can be presented before the evening’s gala dinner, where participants can vote to select a winner.
Purpose: Song creation serves as a way for participants to experiment with new tools, but the primary focus is on the content—exploring the organization’s identity, its atmosphere, and how that essence might be expressed through music.
Duration: Up to 3 hours
Location: Location is flexible, at your office, at your retreat, and we always encourage the use of outdoor facilities and nature.
activity option 2Conversational Smørrebrød
A selection of special and very special ingredients is provided, along with the question: If SIC were an open sandwich, what would it consist of? Each ingredient must serve a purpose, and the each participant is asked to explain and motivate their choices. A conversation starter to stimulate an appetite for better understanding of your colleagues.
Purpose: The food-making activity is a playful pretext for deeper conversations about what distinguishes SIC, what symbolizes its culture, and how those qualities translate into another medium. The resulting smørrebrød may end up looking very different from the traditional version.
Duration: Up to 3 hours
Location: Location is flexible, at your office, at your retreat, and we always encourage the use of outdoor facilities and nature.
activity option 3Rethink nature: Create a new skin
Play God for a moment: Drawing on the collective expertise and specialized know-how of all participants, reimagine what skin could be like—if it hadn’t already been invented. You will be given a limited set of props, ingredients, or raw materials. As a group, you must identify the desired abilities and properties of an entirely new type of skin. The task is to create a prototype that one participant will wear on top of their own skin.
Purpose: This exercise encourages participants to discuss what truly matters within their research fields and sparks curiosity about colleagues’ preferences, perspectives, and ideas. Curiosity, creativity, and inventiveness are put to the test.
Duration: Up to 3 hours
Location: Location is flexible - at your office, at your retreat, and we always encourage the use of outdoor facilities and nature.
activity option 4A video for SIC’s next 10 years
Using their own smartphones, participants discuss SIC’s unique selling points in the competition for top talent and imagine what SIC 2.0 could look like beyond the current funding period. They will write a script for a short video and then bring it to life. Ready. Rolling. Action! The finished videos can be filmed and screened at the evening’s gala dinner.
Purpose: Video production serves as a tool to spark discussion about SIC’s future and to surface participants’ ideas and visions for what SIC could become.
Duration: Up to 3 hours
Location: Location is flexible, at your office, at your retreat, and we always encourage the use of outdoor facilities and nature.
How It Works-
Would you like a deep dive in one activity for all? Or do you prefer that each choose their preferred activity. Or should all be rotating between all activities?
-
Not all activities are quick and carefree. Some take more time. We are open to discussing the setup that fits your group.
-
It looks like play. But the conversation is the X-factor. Let participants know that they are participating in a playful setting where the conversation and interaction is intended.
-
We always try to use surroundings and nature as a backdrop for the activities. Dress appropriately.
-
With many participants, we run a tight schedule. We try to keep waiting time at a minimum. Punctuality helps.
